Halloween and Anti Social behaviour |

Good evening Resident,
As Halloween approaches, we would like to remind everyone to enjoy the festivities safely and respectfully.
While Halloween can be a fun occasion for children, families and local communities, it can also lead to incidents of anti-social behaviour (ASB) such as nuisance knocking, criminal damage, excessive noise, intimidation, littering, and the misuse of fireworks. Such behaviour can have a significant impact on residents and will not be tolerated.
We ask parents and guardians to be aware of their children's whereabouts and activities both physical and online, particularly during the evening. Please encourage young people to be respectful of others and considerate of vulnerable residents who may find unexpected visitors or disruptive behaviour distressing.
We have been made aware of recent online trends called “KICK A DOOR RUN” this can lead to offences such as criminal damage on some occasions. With regards to this, we would like to encourage parents and guardians to provide education to their children abound the impact this can have on residents in the community to deter them from getting involved in this trend of similar trends.
Residents can help by:
If you witness anti-social behaviour, please report it to North Yorkshire Police: Online: Report via the North Yorkshire Police website.
This weekend also brings Goth Weekend to Whitby! Whitby Neighbourhood Policing team will be around the town on foot patrols throughout the weekend. Feel free to say hello if you see any of the team out and about. Whitby Swing Bridge will be closed from the early hours of Friday morning (30th October) until Monday morning (2nd November) please bare this in mind whilst driving around the town.
By working together, we can help ensure that Halloween remains a safe and enjoyable occasion for everyone in our communities.
